We are keen to support research projects, especially those outside the traditional IT field. Whether as part of a structured course or an individual proposal we would consider requests for server space on individual merits.
Archiving
If you have an archiving project where you need a domain name and server space then contact us. We care deeply about the purpose and potential of the web and would be keen to host many types of text or image based archives. For projects requiring substantial amounts of space we can help come up with a clear strategy for ensuring the survival of your archive through ongoing server sponsorship.
Commercial
Got a web based business proposal ? We'd be keen to hear from you if you have an idea that could realistically be a profitable employer in the long run. If you believe that the future of the net lies in building businesses from scratch, not the excesses of boo.com then we would like to hear from you. We can provide modest set up costs, server space, applications, developer support and admin. What do you want to do with them?
Applications
If you are into developing scripts, small applications and the likes but not in any commercial environment, then we might be able to help. We are always on the look out for younger programmers looking for alternatives to traditional weekend work and this offers you the space to develop your skills and potentially earn at the same time.
Self Publishing
As text takes up such little space and bandwidth and worldwide distibution are not a problem, the internet opens up possibility the most significant development for the writer since the 15th century. If your writing passion is not necessarily for cash but for the desire to write; if you have work that wants a home whilst keeping hold of the rights, if you want support in promoting it then we would love to hear from you. Similarly we would always be interested in taking on older, out of copyright, and out of print works. We have a clear committment to this in our planned development of an online fiction imprint
Niche
Maybe your idea 'doesn't quite fit' into any of the categories above. Well, with space for 200 websites on each server we've got room for the 'just might work' and 'it's easier to do than explain' projects. If it sticks two fingers up to the coroporate ideal and demonstrates the flexibility and power of the net for the individual human then we want to hear from you.
